Project Brief

Richmond International Hotels are a  franchise of Aksoy Holding. The company has a total of 5 hotels Turkey wise, and has been planning to grow this number worldwide.

The year I was briefed for a new identity design, the agency I was a part of had already worked around 30 different designs and styles with their previous designers.

There was one very contemporary and strong design, but lacked the concept.

I came up with this design and it was selected immediately.

The hotel company, “Richmond International” had given the decision of re-designing a modern and contemporary outlook, and the agency i’ve been working for since then had created several concepts from different designers as reference.

The typography arrangement below the emblem, is actually made by a previous designer. I was the last (and final one) to clear out the emblem problematic.

I came up with the idea, there should be a cropped majiscule “R”, that can be applied to many media, and hotel brandings, from signage to room interiors, and yet it should carry the essence of its oriental origin; being a Turkish company, with a global vision.

This is the final version out of tens of designs, and the approved revision is made out of the moods i’ve created with cinema 4D, with 3d renders with different lightings.
